One of the things we had to buy for Baby #2 is a baby bathtub. Of course we had one for Little A, but we didn’t bring it with us when we moved back to Sweden.
For Alec, we had a pretty generic tub with a sling that we found very helpful when he was little, floppy and slippery. When he was just under six months old, we transitioned him to a Hoppop toddler tub that we loved, and after a few months with that one, he was ready to just bathe in our big tub (which he LOVES).
When it came time to choose a tub for Baby #2, I looked for a simple sling solution like the one we had for Alec, but didn’t really find a good one over here. I considered Hoppop’s baby bucket-style tub, but I just don’t see how it would work for a newborn. Then I discovered Boon Inc’s Naked Collapsible Baby Tub.
We have limited space in our flat and adding another little person means adding a lot of stuff! So I like that this tub is collapsible (but without any creepy spaces for gunk to get stuck) and hangable. Since we really liked the sling/hammock function when Alec was a newborn, I hope that the reclining function will give the same effect. On the downside? Buying this tub on this side of the Atlantic meant ordering it from the UK at a premium and then paying import fees etc on top of the price so it actually ended up being an expensive purchase. Let’s hope it’s worth it!
Next week I’ll be posting our complete shopping list for Baby #2 – don’t miss it!
