So technically the Baby Jogger City Mini double stroller isn’t a full-on contender on our shortlist. We aren’t considering the City Mini as an everyday stroller since it doesn’t really meet some of our key criteria – it is a wide side-by-side that doesn’t convert to a single stroller, so I’m not even sure we could roll it into our stroller room. And it doesn’t offer flexibility in which way the children are facing. But we are definitely considering a City Mini double stroller as an extra stroller and for travel.
We actually just bought a City Mini single stroller for travel. We haven’t even used it yet, but I think it is going to be ideal. We will leave it in the trunk of our car so we have a stroller for shopping trips and similar with Alec. And for travel it’s super practical – you can fold it with one hand while holding the baby in the other and it is pretty lightweight and very compact.
So with another baby on the way, I was wondering, will we want another single stroller for travel? Easier to handle and gives the option of taking just one baby out or letting one baby walk while the other rolls, or one baby björn while the other rolls. But if we have both children in strollers, that means both parents are strolling which could be a disadvantage with all the other things you’re up to while traveling. So I think we will need a double stroller even for travel, and I think the city mini is probably still the best option. Even in a double, it gives us the advantages of easy-fold and compact lightweight storage and travel while still offering good comfort for the children.
Better put this on the shopping list!
