Today we ordered a City Mini stroller. This stroller has been recommended to us time and time again by so many different parents. It is lightweight, folds into practically nothing with a mechanism that you only need one hand for (so you can actually fold your stroller while you are holding your baby), yet is still sturdy and comfortable for baby and parents.
We are getting the City Mini as a “second” stroller (more about our “first” stroller here) and will use it primarily when we are traveling. Even if we just go away for a weekend, our regular stroller takes up half of the trunk of our car. Once you get everything else in, you are not taking that stroller out unless you have to. And for air travel, we are always nervous about something happening to our stroller (seeing how roughly strollers are handled, even when you gate-check), and it is heavy and a bit of a hassle to fold up and get into that gate-check bag when you’re boarding. When I flew alone with Alec I was so grateful for all the kind souls who helped me out, but it was definitely a bit of a stressful part of the whole trip. So this stroller will probably live in the trunk of our car for shopping trips etc and then accompany us whenever we go away from home.
We chose the color sand which is light enough for warmer climates, but doesn’t look like it will stain too badly. In addition to the stroller we ordered a few accessories which we think we will need: a rain canopy, a belly bar, and a parent console.
Do you manage with one stroller or do you have several? What is the best stroller for travel?
