Do you have a guest bed in your nursery?
Alec’s room in Atlanta was previously our guest room. When we moved him in there, we turned the queen bed, pushed it up against the wall and threw a whole bunch of fluffy pillows on it. It was meant to just make the best of the bed that we had to keep in there, but it actually ended up being the cosiest place to cuddle up with Alec in the morning or read stories lying on our backs before bedtime. Not to mention a comfy spot for middle-of-the night feeds and a great place to get Alec dressed and un-dressed.
Now that we are planning Alec’s new room in Stockholm, we were planning to put in a sofa to fill the same purpose. But now we’re wavering. Will we miss that big queen bed? Will it be a pain to be crouched down over a sofa or on the floor with Alec crawling away when we dress him? Yes, a big bed would take up a lot of space and it’ll be ages before he can actually climb up onto it himself. But I think I would miss having it. Decisions…
